Well howdy! The UnmatchedStyle crew (okay me and Giovanni) went to the AIGA SC 2011 InShow awards gala this past Friday night and our work on UnmatchedStyle and ConvergeSE won some design awards.

Charlotte Grok
Over the weekend Julia and I attended the first Charlotte Grok. We go to a lot of meetups, barcamps and conferences and I think this was one of the more interesting days that I’ve spent in the company of other nerds.
Charlotte User Experience Meetup

UMS 2.0
So the whole point of setting up this reboot blog was to start posting about all the work we were doing to re-launch unmatchedstyle into it’s latest version. We’re calling this 2.0 because it will be a total recreation and reboot of what’s here. Right now the site is built on WordPress and has been since 2004. Holy hell…2004?

Book Reviews in 2011
Among lots of pretty huge things we have planned for unmatchedstyle in 2011, one of the more fun things (at least for me) we’re doing are book reviews. We’ll be doing a good many of these book reviews and then giving away a copy of the book on each post. Or at least giving something away that’s related to the book. Charlotte UX Panel
We were contacted by Bermon Painter (@bermonpainter) a few weeks ago about the December Charlotte UX Meetup Panel that he was pulling together. It sounded like they had a good thing going with their meetup and we jumped at the opportunity to come up to Charlotte and join them for the evening. We decided to sponsor the event as well.
